Staples Removed

Lexi has an appointment for the staples to be removed from her hip this Saturday. I will post more pictures after the removal to show how well she has been healing.

Recovery

Lexi has been recovering really well over the past 13 days and will be having her staples removed tomorrow. She has been more than a little trooper. This little dog has been so sweet through the entire surgery and the first 1/3 of her recovery.

First Donations

Lexi the Tripod

Hi I am Lexi a little Chihuahua. My mom found me on the road near her house in pretty bad shape as an abandoned and injured dog. I have had 3 major surgerys this past Thanksgiving week and have cost my new owner alot of money (she is taking donations to offset the costs). I losy my leg as part of the injurys that I sustained before my mom took me in, it was a progressive injury from a fractured pelvis. I walked with a limp initially and then finally I couldn't walk at all so my new mom took me to the Vet and got me all fixed up. I have decided to start a blog so all my new friends from the Firehouse Animal Hospital and my new family can watch my progress on this amazing road to recovery.

This first week I have been spayed and had my leg amputation, my bladder was unfortunatly nicked in surgery so I had to have that repaired as well. The doctors really didn't mean to do it, there was just so much being done. The doctors have been really great to me. I am pretty much just resting this week, I had to be cut open again the day after thanksgiving because I was not going to the bathroom and they found a clot that they needed to flush out. I am going to the bathroom now though and all seems to be back on track. I am given alot of medication to keep me from feeling too much.
